What this policy covers
This policy covers sahla.ae and the application behind it. It sits alongside the privacy policy, which explains what we do with personal data once it is collected.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser so it can recognise the browser on the next page or the next visit. Local storage does the same job by other means, and we treat it the same way here.
Some are necessary for the site to work at all. The rest are for measurement, and those are the ones you can refuse.
The cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Life |
|---|---|---|
| sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token | Keeps you logged in between pages, and only that | Session, and up to thirty days if you stay signed in |
| sahla-theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or the dark interface | One year |
| sahla-consent | Remembers your answer on measurement cookies, so we stop asking | Six months |
These three are strictly necessary or set by your own choice. Refusing them means the site cannot keep you logged in, or has to ask the same question on every visit.
Third party cookies
Three third parties measure how the site is used. None of them gets access to your accounting data or to your documents.
| Provider | What it is for | Cookies |
|---|---|---|
| Google, through Tag Manager and Analytics | Counting visits, seeing which pages are read and which are abandoned | _ga, _ga_*, up to fourteen months |
| Meta | Measuring whether an advert led to a request, and building audiences for our own campaigns | _fbp, _fbc, up to three months |
| Microsoft Clarity | Heatmaps and anonymised session replays of the public pages only, to see where visitors hesitate. Never loaded in the application | _clck, _clsk, up to thirteen months |
These load only after you accept measurement cookies. If you refuse, they are not loaded and nothing is sent to them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell the data these cookies produce.
- We do not use your accounting records, your invoices or your documents for advertising.
- We do not put advertising cookies inside the application you log into.
How to refuse or delete them
You can change your answer at any time from the cookie banner, and it applies to the next page load.
Every browser also lets you block or delete cookies from its settings, site by site. Doing that removes the necessary ones too, so you will be asked to log in again.
Google and Meta both publish their own opt out tools, and they work independently of the choice you make here.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a measurement tool, this page changes and the date at the top changes with it. A new measurement tool never loads before you have accepted it.
A question on a clause?
An adviser answers on WhatsApp, in English, French or Arabic. We would rather explain a term now than argue about it later.
